Voices of Coal affected Communities-1

FES invites you to an
online community research workshop
VOICES OF COAL
AFFECTED COMMUNITIES UNDER LOCKDOWN

Wednesday 14 October 2020 from 11:00 to 12:30

This workshop brings on line the voices of activist researchers from 10 coal
affected communities from around South Africa. We will focus on the
experiences of coal affected communities under lockdown, and explore what
these may mean for dealing with climate change and a just transition from
coal.

The workshop concludes a period of action research in 2020 and aims to
provide a congenial, comradely environment for community researchers to
share insights from the research, and discuss these with an invited audience.
The organisations participating in the research are: Vaal Environmental Justice
Alliance, Vukani Environmental Movement, Khutala Environmental Care
Group, Highveld Environmental Justice Network, Matjoba, Mfolozi Community
Environmental Justice Organisation, Greater Phola Ogies Women’s Forum,
Guide the People, Mabola Alternative Committee, Newcastle Environmental
Justice Alliance, GroundWork , Earthlife Africa and SWOP.
