  • The Union of Concerned Scientists released their report Ramping Up Renewables: Energy You Can Count On. It demonstrates that renewable energy is providing clean, reliable electricity across the United States and around the world. It provides an overview of the tools that grid operators use to maintain a reliable electricity supply and helps answer the question of what happens when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun doesn’t shine. There is also an infographic available showing the condensed findings.
  • Another report on water dependence risks by the Union of Concerned Scientiests finds that some US states could each save more than 1000 billion litres of water withdrawals a year by replacing economically uncompetitive coal generators with renewable energy leading toward a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
